Who Cares?


Welcome to Comprehensive Title’s first blog.

The goal here is to provide important inside title industry information here and on our website that will give you the insight and power to make the best choices for you and your family.  So thank you for coming.

Let me start by telling you who I am and why I’m here.  My name is Charlie Johnson.  I was born and raised here in Cincinnati, OH, and along the way I’ve been fortunate enough to have been both a buyer and “refinancer.”  So, if you are here because you are thinking of buying or refinancing your home, (and I’m guessing that you are) then you can count on the fact that I’ve been in your shoes.  I have also spent 14 years as a Cincinnati real estate agent, so to any agents reading this – I’ve been in your shoes too.  Which allows me a very distinct advantage of knowing what the snags are sometimes in the buying/refinancing process.

Do you ever get frustrated by the lack of true old fashioned customer service?  Of course, it’s not dead, but doesn’t it feel like it’s more and more rare?  I, for one, am flat out sick and tired of it.  When you need information, you don’t want to be put on “perma-hold”, you don’t want to be passed off to the next person, and you certainly don’t want to be told that someone will call you back, only to never hear from them.  And don’t we all know that home buying doesn’t end at 5 pm on a Friday, and start again Monday at 9 am?

So I decided that if I couldn’t find a company that was different, I was going to create one.  That’s the foundation of Comprehensive Title.  It is the difference between being a person, and being a file number.  It is people to talk to who have your information.  It is getting answers even on weekends!  It is transparency.  Within hours of receiving your information in our office, a preliminary HUD, or settlement statement, begins to take shape online.  You can watch, if you like, the information updated in real time as we get it.  Now you can know who, or what, is moving right along – or gunking up the works.  Each agent that we work with can log in to our system and check on the status of their things anytime from anywhere.  But just to make sure they know what’s happening in their client’s process, agents get weekend update emails directly from me about where their client’s deal stands after the week’s work.  Do you know of another title company that cares enough to do that?

Yes, we are available.  Yes, we are transparent.  Yes, we are quick and nimble and can turn things around faster than you can imagine.  Did you know we are also turning green?   All your closing documents are saved onto CDs for you so there is no armload of paperwork to carry.  We enjoy the idea of saving trees while we’re at it.  And through Nature Conservancy, we have a tree planted for each buyer, seller or refinancer that we have the pleasure of serving.

It’s really all about caring – doing the right thing for people, and doing some good around us along the way.  That’s not only my mission, it’s my passion.
